Village of Excellence participates in the National School Lunch Program as administered through the State of Florida Food and Nutrition Management. We request all parents complete a free and reduced lunch application upon enrollment. For the 2014-2015 school year, all students will be served under the Universal Free Program.
All meals are catered by Orange Blossom Catering.
We use a 10 day cycle for breakfast and a 5 week cycle for lunch. Meaning, for breakfast, the entire menu will repeat every two weeks. Your child will always have a choice between their favorite breakfast cereal and the meal for the day which may include pancakes, biscuits or yogurt and bagels. The lunch cycle repeats every 5 weeks.
As a participant in the NSL, we are required to have a school wide wellness policy. The purpose of this policy is to share our plan regarding teaching students healthy habits and providing dietetically appropriate food choices. Students measure their BMIs (Body Mass Indices) in order to track their height/weight indices.
